About the Sustainable Food Blog
In a perfect world, what would we eat? How would we eat it and who would we eat it with? There would probably be no factory farms, no anonymous TV dinners, no bad-tasting meals. Perhaps we'd have more local food, more organic food, or more vegetarian food. More people could afford healthy food and cook tasty meals.
Let's define sustainable food as food that's grown and eaten in a way that we'd all be happy to continue forever. Sustainability is important in all areas of life, but this blog will start with food. (Sustainable Clothing Blog? If you're out there, I'd like to hear from you next.)
Here you'll find information on everything having to do with sustainability from farm to kitchen and beyond. For example, gardening tips, recipes for healthy food with seasonal ingredients, and ways of finding your local farms and CSAs. We'll be celebratory, skeptical, and above all practical.
