Healthy diet – About how many calories should a person eat everyday?

By admin On March 11, 2010 7 COMMENTs

About how many calories should a person eat everyday.
Can u list the foods that a person should eat for a Healthy Diet.

2000 calories is too much or too little depending on the person.
A rough estimate is your current weight times 10 first
.I am 132# 1320 calories to maintain my weight for lying in bed all day. Add 10% (132) for digesting and eating food
S0 1452, next times your activity level
0.2 for sedentary
0.3 for moderately active (1452 x 0.3=435.6+1452=1887.6 calories per day to maintain my weight)
So 2000 would be too much.
You need to plug the numbers to find your needs. To lose weight remove no more than 500 calories per day (unless your caloric needs exceed 3000 calories per day) from what is needed to MAINTAIN your weight. With that you should lose roughly 1 lb per week (3500 calories = 1 # of fat)
0.5 for highly active.
Your intake should not

What should I purchase to make a healthy rat diet?

By admin On March 10, 2010 7 COMMENTs

I’m thinking of getting my first pair of rats, but their diets seem complex. What exactly should I buy to make a Healthy Diet for them? In what portions and how much should they be fed? Thanks

Although it looks intimidating, the nutritional requirements of rats can be met pretty easily with a little bit of work. There are pretty much two options open for the pet owner.

1. High Quality Lab Block
When one recommends feeding their rats lab blocks, they aren’t talking about the average blocks sold at the petstore. The cheaper brands sold at the petstore are filled with potentially cancerous preservatives and nasty fillers. Your best bet is to buy a high quality store brand, such as Mazuri or Oxbow, or to order a laboratory-quality block, such as harlan teklad.

2. Home-made Mix
It is possible to make your own blend of food which is nutritionally complete. This has the

What should you eat for a healthy diet and for growth ? For breakfast lunch and dinner or for the 6 smal meals?

By admin On March 8, 2010 4 COMMENTs

Ive been researching on what a 17 year old should eat for a Healthy Diet and all I ever get is that I should eat some fruits, carbohydrates, protein, saturated fat enriched foods etc. But they never say what exact foods I can eat in that meal, how much I should eat of which and what I can eat for growth. I never really know what to eat in the end :( so if anyone could answer me this question I would be really grateful =] thanks!

The reason no one every really says which foods to eat is that there are hundreds of choices in each food group. And since people’s tastes are different, your choices may not be the same as others.

The important thing is to get the right balance in all the food groups (meaning so much carbs, veggies, etc.). Below is a link to an article that outlines what

What is the definition of a healthy diet?

By admin On March 7, 2010 3 COMMENTs

I have no clue what can be considered as a healthy diet.

A Healthy Diet consists of a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, low and non-fat dairy products. Saturated fats, trans fats, sugar, and alcohol are limited, and you can use spices as well. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water is also recommended. With the variety you get the most nutrients, and you can avoid boredom.

The Mayo Clinic has an excellent website detailing different healthy diets that work with these principles. They also use the food pyramid developed by the US government… maybe it’s the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

Will exercising more and changing to a healthy diet improve my circulation?

By admin On March 6, 2010 8 COMMENTs

I’m 16 and am aiming to improve my circulation in my body is exercising and a Healthy Diet, consisting of fruit, vegetables and other healthy stuff a way to do this?

To improve your circulation aerobic excessive and physical activity is an excellent way to get that blood flowing. Another great way to improve circulation is spending some time in a Sauna. The heat from a Sauna surrounds the body and penetrates deeply into the joints, muscles and tissues, speeding oxygen flow and increasing circulation. Also, try visiting a massage therapist from time to time to get those muscles relaxed and promote better circulation.

What do the "Bible is the perfect instruction manual for life" folks think about healthy diet and exercise?

By admin On March 5, 2010 17 COMMENTs

Serious question.

I’ve met people who claim the Bible contains all the information a person needs. If there are any of those folks reading this question, how do you feel about the importance of a Healthy Diet and exercise?

I think that’s incorrect. The Bible doesn’t say all that much about our health. If I remember correctly it says something about walking for health but it wasn’t a commanded or a sin not to.

Can you help me with planning a healthy diet?

By admin On March 4, 2010 2 COMMENTs

I want to eat "right". However, I don’t know what is healthy for sure and what is not. For example: apples appear to be good, but what about the sugar? Salad seems good, but what kind of dressing? Of course, these are only but a couple of questions I have. I need a Healthy Diet for sure because my family history is rather bad. I am 24 right now, a little overweight, so I am looking to "nip this in the bud" now and live a healthy and long life. Your help is very appreciated.

The best way to do so is to consult a nutritionist, who can tailor your diet to your needs.

What is a healthy diet and exercise routine for a teenager?

By admin On March 3, 2010 5 COMMENTs

I’m 13 years old and I don’t do any exercise. I’m not fat, I’m just average. But I don’t think I’m really that healthy so I want to know a Healthy Diet and exercise routine. I’m not really aiming to lose weight. I only take a walk around the neighborhood for 30~45 minutes. I just eat anything that I like. I’m not very obsessed with my weight I’m just trying to be healthy people!!!

Use exercises that use you own body weight (like push-up, pull ups, dips n such). If your going for a nice stomach, I’ve found combining leg lifts as you do a crunch is quite effective. As far as diet, stay away from high sugar intake. People become addicted to sugar and it starts in the early teens. Drink mostly water. Eat a healthy balance, and maybe talk to your parents about taking a multi-vitamin too. Cardio is important
